Since the company was first set up in 1913, LEONIDAS has striven to assure top quality, absolute freshness and superior flavour in the products it provides to its customers.

Only the highest quality ingredients are used in making LEONIDAS chocolates: Belgian couverture chocolate, fresh butter, fresh cream, hazelnuts from Turkey, Morello cherries from the Périgord, almonds from Italy and walnuts from Grenoble, to name but a few.

These ingredients are worked by experienced staff who have integrated their craftsmanship into a large company structure. We do NOT add vegetable oil and use 100% pure cocoa butter which provides the most enjoyable chocolate experience.

LEONIDAS makes it a point of principle to maintain the quality of its products.

Like all European food companies, LEONIDAS incorporated the HACCP system (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) in its production process many years ago; HACCP is a process control system by which food quality is ensured.

In 2001, LEONIDAS took its quality assurance a step further by obtaining ISO 9001 certification, which the company wanted to attain in order to continue its endeavour towards constant improvement and customer satisfaction. ISO 9001 certification was a good opportunity for the company to take a closer look at its entire manufacturing process and to check that everything was in place to ensure a quality product.

With regard to the introduction of the new European Directive, LEONIDAS continues to use only cocoa butter both for its chocolate and the fillings.

Our world famous chocolates are fresh and flown in weekly from Brussels, Belgium.  Our chocolates are made of the freshest ingredients and should be consumed within 14 days of delivery. Leonidas chocolate maintains its freshness the best in a cool and dry area with temperatures between 59 and 65 degrees.
